Tell your senator: Do NOT confirm Markwayne Mullin

The Senate is about to vote on whether to confirm Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma -- an election denier -- as Secretary of the DHS.
DHS oversees both immigration enforcement and the security of our nation's elections. Approving someone who will not adhere to free and fair elections in charge of DHS will put our entire democracy at risk.
Election denial is a hallmark of Christian nationalism. It prioritizes a distorted religious-political aim over democratic processes, while perpetuating a specific narrative elevating "the anointed" over the will of the people.
Mullin knows this well. For years, he's built a relationship with City Elders, a Tulsa-based Christian nationalist group whose leaders seek to take control of government at every level in the name of "Establishing the Kingdom of God."
Mullin champions the SAVE America Act, the most restrictive anti-voting bill in our nation’s history. When asked, he affirmed that he would put uniformed officers at polling places “if there was a specific threat.”
As DHS secretary, he would be the fox guarding the henhouse.
At his confirmation hearing on March 18, it only got worse.
Senators asked a simple question: Will he obey an illegal order from the president?
His response was, "The president would never ask me to do that."
Mullin idolizes Trump and the Christofascist false prophets that support him.
When ICE agents in Minneapolis killed mother-of-three Renee Good and federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti -- an ICU nurse -- Mullin rushed to defend the shootings, dismissing clear video evidence. He still hasn't apologized.
Make no mistake -- Mullin's record of election denial, defended violence, and unwavering loyalty to Trump tells us exactly what kind of DHS secretary he would be.
As Christians walking the way of Jesus, we believe leadership demands humility, honesty, and accountability -- not idolatry, violence, and blind obedience.
It’s up to all of us to stand together to fight Christian nationalism and say loudly -- not in our name.
